In 1976, a group of citizens initiated a process to establish a community service centre in Vanier. In November 1980, the Vanier Community Service Centre opened its first office at 6 Beechwood Avenue. At that time, the Centre had only four employees.

Today, the Vanier Community Service Center (Vanier CSC) has more than 70 employees and a number of agencies whose offices are located at the CSC Vanier. As a result, services are becoming more accessible to Vanier residents and those of surrounding areas.

The Vanier CSC is a non-profit organization made up of employees, a board of directors and volunteers. The Centre and its affiliated agencies provide more than 20 health and social service programs to the people of Vanier and surrounding areas.
